PlayFi modular nodes power everything found on the PlayFi protocol from advanced AI processing to data storage. Each node contains four unique and powerful modules that can be toggled individually by the node operator. These modules comprise Artificial Intelligence, Coordination, Zero Knowledge, and Storage.



The functionality of each node adapts, based on the selected modules.

Artificial Intelligence Modules:
Analyzing raw data to extract structured content, and verify the results.

Coordination Modules:
Facilitating consensus and communication across nodes to maximize efficiency.

Zero Knowledge (ZK) Modules:
Utilizing zero-knowledge proofs to verify data integrity securely and privately.

Storage Modules:
Organizing and compressing content data for optimal accessibility.

Running a Node

By running a single piece of node software, node operators can choose which of these powerful network features they would like to support and receive rewards for, depending on what parts of their compute and storage they would like to utilize. Operators can run any combination or all of the modules at once.

The $PLAY token powers the PlayFi Protocol. $PLAY is the gas token of PlayChain, and TGE will coincide with the PlayFi mainnet launch. 20% of the total supply of $PLAY is allocated to PlayFi node operators

Running a node is straightforward and can be done on a personal computer. Depending on the activated modules, specific hardware enhancements might be necessary—such as increased hard drive space for storage modules and greater processing power for AI modules.

Initial node setup will require users to connect their wallet containing their PlayFi node license and undertake KYC.

The PlayFi node license

Operating a PlayFi modular node requires a node license, which can only be purchased in our presales or main sale. A PlayFi node license will come in the form of a temporarily soulbound NFT that will become transferable six months after the PlayFi mainnet goes live.

The PlayFi mainnet is scheduled for launch in Q3 this year, but rewards for node license holders will start well before mainnet.

Modular Node FAQ

What hardware do I need to run a node?

We are partnering with Node-as-a-Service providers to enable people who don’t meet the minimum hardware requirements to operate a node.

PlayFi’s modular nodes consist of four individually toggleable modules allowing devices of a wide range of hardware capabilities to earn rewards. The requirement per module for running a node yourself are:

Storage modules:

  • Dual core, recent generation, 2 GHz processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • 50GB SSD available storage space per node
  • 10 Mbps download internet speed

Coordination modules:

  • Dual core, recent generation, 2 GHz processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 100GB available storage space
  • 10 Mbps download internet speed

ZK modules:

  • Dual core, recent generation, 3 GHz processor
  • 16GB RAM
  • 10GB SSD available storage space
  • 10 Mbps download internet speed

  • Dual core, recent generation, 3 GHz processor

Will PlayFi be partnering with Node-as-a-Service operators?

Yes, PlayFi will be partnering with multiple Node-as-a-service partners allowing users without access to the required hardware to earn rewards in as little as a few clicks.

Can I run multiple nodes on my machine?

Yes, the provided hardware specifications listed above apply to running up to 100 nodes on a single device (excluding storage modules).

Do I need to buy specific hardware to run a node?

No, whilst it may be profitable to buy specific hardware to run PlayFi nodes, they can already run on most laptops and desktops. However, if you do not have access to a suitably powerful machine, you can skip the technical requirements and utilize our Node-as-a-service partners who will operate your node/s and pass the rewards back to you.

Do I get all four node modules included in the one license?

Yes, all modules are included in one license and can be enabled/disabled at your discretion. Each module requires different hardware capabilities and offers varying levels of rewards.

Do the nodes support virtualization, e.g. cloud based node that might be a cluster of multiple devices?

Yes, PlayFi’s modular node architecture will be able to operate anywhere that meets the provided hardware requirements.

How do tiers work? Will they affect my rewards?

Whilst earlier and lower tiers will cost less and will receive additional rewards in the leadup to the launch of the $PLAY token (through the PlayFi Airdrop Points Platform and otherwise), once the network is live all nodes will be functionally identical and will receive the same ongoing rewards regardless of tier.
