Genesis node license sale goes live August 14th

We’re pleased to announce the upcoming sale of 1,000 PlayFi Genesis Node Licenses.  These limited edition nodes come with incredible bonus rewards for early adopters, and will help PlayFi scale as we approach Mainnet launch. 

More than half of all global internet traffic is content - people watching, playing and streaming. PlayFi turns this content into actionable data using powerful AI Agents, and makes it available cross-chain for anyone to build on top of. Underpinning this powerful technology is PlayBase, our decentralized node network.

In the few months since we launched the PlayFi Testnet, we’ve seen hundreds of thousands of transactions and 70,000+ wallets interacting with the chain.  As our airdrop campaign ramps up, the PlayFi protocol is spending an increasing amount of money each month on centralized infrastructure.  Put simply, we’d rather scale on our own decentralized network and reward node operators who are in our community.

The first four-in-one modular nodes

‍PlayFi’s nodes represent a significant technical breakthrough by our team:  

1. Each node is capable of performing four functions that support the PlayFi network (AI processing, coordination, storage and ZK modules) giving node operators flexibility to maximize their rewards. 
   
   
2. PlayFi nodes are hyper-efficient: our early tests suggest that a laptop with a dual core 2ghz processor and 8GB RAM will be capable of running 100 nodes simultaneously.
   
   
3. Designed for non-technical operators:  We have full integration with node-as-a-service partners that can run your node licenses on your behalf (for a small share of rewards). It’s literally a couple of clicks to get your node and running. 

‍PlayFi nodes have been designed from the ground up to be decentralized.  By ensuring that our nodes run on mid-range laptops, and giving operators full control over which modules run to operators, we are maximizing the potential pool of hardware that can run nodes.

Built in utility
‍PlayFi’s “moat” is our AI processing engine - unique AI Agents that watch the content the world is watching and playing and turn it into on-chain data.  New AI Agents can be trained via a simple UI, which will enable people to capture data from gaming, sports, live streams, entertainment and more – in any country, in any language.  

‍Even before PlayFi’s mainnet is launched, we have community members starting to build interesting dApps for streamers, game studios and sports using PlayFi’s data - and when data is flowing through the protocol, node operators are rewarded.  

‍PlayFi will be a global data machine, powered by the $PLAY token, which will facilitate and incentivize people to farm and use data, while rewarding the node operators who make it possible.

What are the benefits of running a Genesis node?

‍20% of the $PLAY token will be allocated to node operators as rewards for supporting the network.  Additionally, node operators will receive a bonus allocation of $PLAY when our token launches, which we’re boosting by 3x for Genesis node licenses. 

‍But that’s not at all. We’re locking in the rewards for the first 10,000 nodes on the $PLAY network with a bonus amount of $PLAY equal to the amount spent on the node.  This is on top of a buy back guarantee and the ability to transfer your nodes after an initial lock period.

Why only 1,000 Genesis nodes?

‍We’re committed to scaling our node network progressively, ensuring that we strike the right balance between scalability of the PlayFi network and node operator incentives.  This initial sale will enable us to transition the PlayFi Testnet to community-run decentralized infrastructure, and as adoption of PlayFi grows, the amount of nodes will increase.
